Women’s Fringed Purses and Handbags
Between an authentic designer and a replica designer purse, one style that remains constant and unique is the fringed purse and handbag. You can dress one of these styles up or be casual, just as they will go with any footwear and outfit. Runners, heels, shorts or dresses they bring out the best in everything.
The brown crossbody purse in the first image has studded decor across the front and has a long strap. The large black handbag has a few fringes accenting the ends and are short in length. Studs decorate the front.
The fringes range from a few inches long to medium length and then very long. You can find one that is plain, or decorated with printed fabric or embellished with decor like rivets, studs, beads or embroidery. There can be very few fringes attached or many surrounding or covering the whole bag. They can be on the border or edge as hanging threads, cords or strips. From thin to thick with beads strung on them all the way, or just a few added for decor. They are free flowing and can be formed in groups or spaced out.
Fringed purses and handbags are found in many shapes and styles, from a purse with short handles, a long strap crossbody style or a larger handbag. They can be rounded, square, oblong and any other shape imagined. The camouflage pattern is much desired by many, and can be dressed up or down, matching anything with the neutral colors. The bucket style below has a short handle with a long detachable strap. It is roomy inside and will make any outfit stand out.
These bags are eye catching, relaxed, fun and are for all ages young or old. This Native American fringe was huge during the Hippie movement in the late 1960’s, and by the end of the mid 1970’s the fringe was out of style. As time went on this style returned and has since stayed. They have evolved with the various styles, colors and sized to suit every need.
Several designers continue to lead the way creating the fringe bag, and you will see them in every major store. There are prices and styles to match every budget. They are quite visual without much description needed. There is no specific season for using them, they are in demand and sold all year round.
