Screen Printing Tote Bags-Video
There is nothing like creating something on your own once in a while, and screen printing tote bags is one you can actually do at home. It’s nice to be able to choose what you would like to have on it for example, your name, a favorite picture you took, or being creative and drawing either on paper first or right on the bag. You can purchase supplies individually, or buy kits that have all you need included with or without a bag.
They will make a great gift for anyone, including a family member, friend or for a teacher along with others you may need one for. Decoration options include a trim at the top of the bag with fabric, beads, studs, craft store decorations or leave it plain. The print you choose can be black or any other color, along with multi colors as well. The bag itself, doesn’t have to be white but bright or even all black. This picture is what was screen printed in the video, a colorful elephant on a white fabric tote bag.
This video is just over five minutes, and I chose it for how simple it is and it’s not as difficult as some of us may have thought. To screen print a tote bag, make sure you have everything you need ready to go. By watching the video at least once first before you get started, you will be familiar with it as you go along. The color won’t come off when it’s washed as long as you set it properly as shown.
You can find starter or regular kits and accessories at your local craft stores or by shopping on line. The items needed are a white tote bag, a screening stencil, black ink, cardboard, plastic knife, a small squeegee, plastic canvas, fabric markers, paint brush and an iron. There is more information in the video.
I hope you enjoyed watching and making your own screen printing tote bag, and perhaps will want to make more for yourself or others. It would be a great project to do with your own children or if you run a daycare or teach, to make them with your classroom.
I have another article that is a fun and interesting video Painting Leather Handbags, where you can take an older bag and paint it giving it a make over.
Click on Women’s Purses and Handbags for information about them, to read and shop for men’s click on Men’s Bags and Accessories. The option to shop for both are at the bottom of the two pages, and to the right on my sidebar where I have several merchants listed.
